What is our Covid-19 Response?

Like everyone else on the planet, we are concerned about the virus and doing our very best to keep ourselves, our friends & family and our community safe. Some of our employees are working from home. Some have voluntarily taken time off. Those of us who are here in the shop are taking extra precautions to reduce the chances of spreading the virus. This includes daily disinfecting of all the tools and surfaces we come into contact with and plenty of hand washing. We are practicing social distancing as best we can, limiting meetings and maintaining larger personal bubbles (it helps to have a 10,000 sq ft warehouse with multiple projects we can be working on). We are using virtual meeting programs like Zoom when we do need to meet as a staff. So far, our team members have remained healthy and we continue to plug away at our projects. While we have not made the decision to close the shop to customers, we kindly ask that people contact us to make an appointment (no drop-ins), only come in if you’re healthy with no fever, and bear with us as we try to show you our tiny houses while maintaining larger than normal personal bubbles. If the state mandates shelter in place for everyone, we will discontinue customer visits.

We hope that everyone stays safe and healthy during this public crisis. We are so thankful to our customers and we look forward to getting through this difficult time and that together we will thrive when it’s over.

Owen Acker

Employee Spotlight: Owen Acker, Shop Hand

Owen began working for us last fall and he’s made a BIG impact on our little company. In addition to jumping right in on the construction of our tiny houses, Owen took on the important task of getting our shop organized – from the yard, to materials holding area, to the tool room, to the production area, he greatly helped increase the order, which in turn makes us more efficient! Before joining CHNW, Owen and his fiancé Kendall converted a 35’ bus into a tiny house on wheels and named it Peppermint! You can view Peppermint and follow their adventures on Instagram @nomadic.owen. Sadly for us, we will be losing Owen this summer as he and Kendall will be moving to Canada after they are married. We can’t thank Owen enough for his contributions to our company and we wish him every success in life!
