It was another busy month for our team!

Here are a few updates we’d like to share:

  • We finished the 10 emergency shelter tiny homes for the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI). The shelters are being transported from our workshop to their new location this week.
  • We began working on a 34′ DADU for a customer (see photos below). This customer plans to use the DADU for low-income housing in a historic downtown location.
  • We are moving into the finish phases of the first 6 tiny homes for the Orting Veteran’s Village. Pictured above is part of the community center we are building for the village as well.

Make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for more updates.

Katie - employee spotlight at CHNW

Katie is the Social Media and Marketing Specialist and has been working for Carriage Houses behind the scenes for 3 years now, sometimes even getting her hands dirty to help finish up a house. She is the woman behind the newsletter and basically every post you’ll see on our social media feeds.
She comes primarily from a background in healthcare and retail, but, after getting her MBA, has worked more and more in marketing, communications, and engagement. You won’t usually see her in company photos because she is almost always behind a camera, being the fly on the wall at the workshop to get the behind the scenes look at what we’re working on.
She enjoys taking photos and drawing, especially cartoon doodles, even recently taking her experience working with people with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and writing and illustrating a children’s book. She enjoys camping and hiking all around the Pacific Northwest with her dog and husband, and loves to cuddle with her multitude of other animals. And her favorite color is clear.
